Experience
I have both a formal education and teaching background. In 2008, I graduated from Western Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science degree in English Education. Three years later, I received a Master of Arts degree in Writing from Kennesaw State University. Currently, I teach English at a secondary and college level. I enjoyed my time at Kennesaw State so much that I was an advisor at the university for four years following my graduation.My favorite group of students to teach are those just entering high school who need help with aspects like the writing process. I also work with them in all areas of English and literature, such as comprehension, analysis, and vocabulary. While some tutors may shy away from students who really struggle with something like writing, this is actually one of my favorite scenarios. When a student struggles with a concept, it is even sweeter to see them succeed knowing that you played a part in their success. One of the advantages of teaching high school is that you gain knowledge of what works when preparing for big exams like the ACT. I have proven experience with helping students improve their scores on these crucial exams.
